The hotel apologized to the consumer and waived all her charges to compensate for the inconvenience.
The outdoor hot spring at the Yilan Westin Resort is an ideal place to relax in the bath; however, an unfortunate incident occurred. Recently, a female guest was bathing in the hotel's outdoor hot spring when an older male staff member suddenly barged in and shouted at the entrance, "Ladies, come out quickly." This left the female guest quite shocked, and she promptly filed a complaint online.
The hotel stated that the male part-time employee has been dismissed and reiterated the importance of adhering to standard procedures in customer service. The female guest pointed out on social media that she was with three other women in the outdoor hot spring at the time, one of whom was a foreigner. The price for this room type is about 10,000 NT dollars per night, yet such an incident occurred.
The incident happened around 11:45 AM, just 15 minutes before the nude bath was scheduled to close. The female guest stated that the access card for the changing room was activated, allowing the older male to enter. In a state of undress, she saw the male staff member's head peeking from behind the door, which made her feel a fear akin to being assaulted.
In response, the hotel expressed its apologies and immediately initiated an investigation upon receiving the customer's complaint. Upon investigation, the male employee claimed he had only entered the entrance for about 2 seconds, but the surveillance footage showed that his actual time inside was nearly 7 seconds. The hotel has formally dismissed the employee as a form of discipline. Furthermore, to show sincerity, the hotel waived all expenses for the guest and enhanced personal information protection measures to ensure that the privacy of guests is not compromised.
