The doctor was surprised by the presence of this foreign object and praised the mother's patience and trust, which helped avoid potential harm.

The curiosity of children often leads them to mischievous behavior, which can result in accidental injuries. A pediatrician pointed out that a 9-year-old girl recently told her mother, "There's something in my ear," but her hearing was normal. The mother initially thought the child was joking, so she skeptically took her to the clinic for a check-up, only to find that the doctor discovered a flexible foam ball in the girl's ear, surprising everyone.

This doctor frequently examines children's ears in the clinic and has seen various foreign objects in ears, including small ladybugs and cockroaches, as well as some unusual items like scented beans and small toys. However, this foam ball was particularly shocking to him. The reason the mother brought her daughter to see a doctor was that the daughter had recently mentioned the foreign object in her ear again, which caught her attention. After examination, the doctor found that the girl's left ear canal was slightly small, but the eardrum was visible, and the protruding object was located deep within the ear canal. Ultimately, he retrieved a foam ball about half a centimeter in size, surrounded by earwax, and fortunately, there was no redness or inflammation in the ear canal.

The doctor asked the girl when she had put the foam ball in her ear, but she replied, "I didn't put it in! I remember seeing this kind of ball last year." The doctor praised the mother for being willing to believe her child's words and not scolding her. "Otherwise, if this object had stayed inside, it could have potentially caused harm at any time, which is hard to predict."
