However, for the million-view YouTuber "Cheap," who has long been concerned about traffic issues, he could not help but question whether the Taipei transportation authorities possess any traffic expertise after reviewing the new planning configuration map. The Transportation Bureau stated that the map is merely one of the references considered by the city government and not the final planning diagram. The mayor emphasized that safety remains the primary consideration, pointing out that the design of the Gongguan Circle frequently leads to accidents and poses safety risks for pedestrians crossing the street, prompting the decision to dismantle it. The deputy mayor also stated that the priority would be to address the accident issues at the Gongguan Circle, with future plans to fill in the underpass and restore the orthogonal intersection to fundamentally solve traffic accidents. Regarding the new intersection configuration, Cheap expressed that while the dismantling of the circle is a good thing, the new plan restricts motorcycles and enforces a two-stage left turn, which takes up a lot of time and is disappointing.
