Tseng Kuo-Cheng, unable to attend a charity match due to tonsillitis, expressed his helplessness over the continuing negative feedback during an interview. He emphasized that he has always been kind, called for everyone to remain calm about the incident, and stated that he would privately clarify the misunderstanding with Tao Jing-Ying.

Tseng Kuo-cheng spoke out for the first time after the controversy, having previously faced criticism for supporting Huang Zi-jiao's comeback, which led him to not only lose endorsement jobs but also to resign from his position at Public Television. Recently, it was revealed that Lan Hsin-mei had accused him of sexual harassment against Tao Jing-ying while intoxicated on a program. Tao Jing-ying also admitted to feeling uncomfortable when attending an event. Tseng Kuo-cheng was scheduled to attend the 2025 Chinese Performing Arts Golf Association's annual charity tournament but withdrew at the last minute. During this time, he accepted a phone interview with the media to express his feelings.

Tseng Kuo-cheng had been drowsy all afternoon due to tonsillitis. When asked if the controversy had affected his health, he stated that it had not, but he felt helpless about the ongoing negative public sentiment. He emphasized, "There was originally nothing happening, and the interview video on CTS was not aired in full; I will definitely pursue the editing issues in the future." He also admitted to having made a slip of the tongue during the interview and had posted an apology for it, but did not expect the public opinion to continue to escalate. He stated, "I consider myself to have always been kind to others; you can misunderstand me but do not slander me. What is happening recently? Am I in retrograde or flowing against the current?" He urged netizens to view the entire matter calmly and rationally, rather than just at face value.

Regarding Lan Hsin-mei's accusation of him forcibly kissing Tao Jing-ying while drunk on the show years ago, Tao Jing-ying also expressed that she indeed felt uncomfortable. Tseng Kuo-cheng responded, "Since this incident happened a long time ago, I have almost no impression of it. If it caused her discomfort, I will privately seek to clarify things with them."
