The Chinese Baseball Association recently held a meeting and announced that the head coach for the baseball team in the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games will be Tang Dengkai. The team will participate in the 2025 Asian Baseball Championship in Pingtan, China, from September 21 to 28. The coaching staff includes pitching coach Jiang Jianming, hitting coach Lin Jiayou, infield coach Chen Weizhi, and outfield coach Lü Youhua, who is also responsible for strength training. The coaching team plans to observe players during the spring league and select the final 26-man roster through competitions, aiming to win the Asian Championship and prepare for the 2026 Asian Games, hoping that the new generation of the Chinese team can achieve great results once again.

The meeting also announced the coaching staff, including former professional pitcher 姜建銘 serving as the pitching coach, 林加祐 as the hitting coach, and the infield and outfield coaches, 陳偉志 and 呂祐華, respectively. Notably, 呂祐華 will also take on the role of physical training to build a strong support team.

The coaching team plans to continuously observe the performance of players from various teams during the spring league. After the spring training concludes, 40 players will be selected to participate in the blue-and-white exhibition game, and through six practical matches, a training list of 26 players will be determined in preparation for the Asian Championship and the subsequent Asian Games duties.

The baseball association emphasizes that the interim goal of this training program is to win the Asian Championship, while also building a complete combat force for the 2026 Asian Games, with hopes that the new generation of the Chinese team can achieve great results and bring glory to the country.
