Independent Chiayi City Councilor Li Yide passed away from liver cancer at Da-Lin Tzu Chi Hospital on the 26th, at the age of 42. Li Yide's family stated that he dedicated himself to serving his constituents during his term, enduring his illness in silence. He was diagnosed just over a month before his death, and other councilors expressed their condolences for his passing. Li Yide was a master's degree holder in business administration from Nanhua University and was pursuing a doctoral degree while holding several social positions.

Li Yide's family stated that during his time as a public representative, he wholeheartedly served the voters, often selflessly dedicating himself to his work, enduring illness, with only a little over a month from being diagnosed with liver cancer to his passing. Other city councilors of Chiayi expressed their sorrow and regret upon hearing the news of Li Yide's death.

Li Yide's family indicated that since he assumed the position of city councilor, he had actively fulfilled his duties and served the voters. He was diagnosed with liver cancer during a medical check-up over a month ago and was sent to Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital for emergency treatment last night due to discomfort. After treatment, his condition initially improved slightly, but unexpectedly, his illness rapidly worsened, and he was ultimately pronounced dead in the morning.

City Councilor Zheng Guanghong stated that he participated in events with Li Yide during the Lunar New Year and did not notice any abnormal physical conditions, never expecting to receive tragic news just a little over a month later. Li Yide had always been active in the council and was often the first or second to register to speak at meetings. He had not attended the special session of the city council that began on the 24th for three consecutive days, which caused discomfort among colleagues.

According to the official website of the Chiayi City Council, Li Yide was elected in the previous term through a supplement method and successfully secured re-election this time. His educational background includes a master's degree in non-profit organization management from Nanhua University, and he was currently pursuing a doctorate while also serving as an executive supervisor of the National Parents Alliance and a part-time lecturer at Nanhua University and Chiayi University's continuing education department.
