A man with the surname Meng in Taichung attacked passersby with a knife in the Nantun District at noon today, resulting in one person being injured and sent to the hospital, while another sustained a forehead injury but was conscious and did not require hospitalization. After receiving the report, the police arrested Meng, who was also injured in the process and is currently receiving medical treatment. Preliminary investigations indicate that Meng first attacked one person outside a gas station with a selfie stick, then fled to a construction site to injure another person with a saw, and finally hid in a restaurant restroom where he was apprehended. The case is still under investigation.

A man with the surname Meng in Taichung is suspected of randomly attacking people near the Show Chwan Department Store in South District around noon today, using a selfie stick and a saw, resulting in one person being injured and sent to the hospital, while another sustained a forehead knife wound but remained conscious and was not hospitalized. Meng also sustained injuries during the incident. After receiving reports, the police immediately arrived at the scene to arrest him and sent him to the hospital for treatment under guard. The case is still under further investigation by the police.

The Taichung City Fire Bureau stated that at 12:11 PM today, they received a report about an injured person in need of medical attention on Wenxin South Road in South District, and promptly dispatched emergency personnel to the scene. Firefighters noted that a 46-year-old man had a knife wound to his forehead but remained conscious, and he was subsequently sent to Lin Shin Hospital for treatment. Meng also sustained injuries and was escorted by police to Chung Shan Medical University Hospital for treatment.

According to the preliminary investigation by the Taichung City Police Department's Fourth Precinct, Meng initially attacked a passerby outside a gas station on Wenxin South Fifth Road in South District with a selfie stick, injuring the passerby’s forehead (who did not seek medical attention). He then fled to a nearby construction site, picked up a saw, and injured a worker before fleeing again. During his escape, Meng discarded the saw in a roadside flowerbed and hid in a restaurant restroom near Wenxin South Sixth Road. The police quickly arrived after receiving reports and arrested him. Due to his injuries, he was escorted to the hospital by the police, and the entire incident is still under investigation.
