Xu Qiaoxin was hit on the arm with a cane by the DPP's caucus leader, Ko Chien-Ming, during a session at the Legislative Yuan, sparking public outrage. Afterwards, she went to the hospital for an injury examination, which showed a blunt contusion on her right elbow. She posted online expressing relief that her eyes were not injured and questioned whether Ko Chien-Ming is fit to serve as caucus leader. Legislative Yuan President Han Kuo-yu also commented with concern, while KMT lawmakers expressed strong dissatisfaction with the incident, criticizing Ko Chien-Ming's behavior as excessive.

During the session in the Legislative Yuan, the Kuomintang caucus proposed a second reading on a referendum against the abolition of the death penalty and martial law, which triggered protests from DPP lawmakers. In the evening, DPP caucus whip Ker Chien-Ming struck the table with his cane, accidentally throwing the cane and hitting Kuomintang member Hsu Chiao-Hsin's arm, causing her to scream in fear and prompting dissatisfaction from other blue legislators.

Later, Hsu Chiao-Hsin posted on social media, mentioning that she went to the hospital for a check-up after being hit by Ker Chien-Ming's cane. The diagnosis showed a contusion on her right elbow and recommended icing at home. She expressed her relief that she was worried the cane might have struck her eye, or else the consequences would have been even worse.

Hsu Chiao-Hsin pointed out that she did not expect an apology from Ker Chien-Ming, but she questioned whether such nearly uncontrollable behavior was suitable for someone in the position of caucus whip for the ruling party. In her post, she also displayed the medical report and photos of the table struck by Ker Chien-Ming, emphasizing that violent behavior has become commonplace in the legislature.

Han Kuo-Yu also expressed concern under her post, urging her to take care of her health. Other Kuomintang lawmakers left comments condemning the incident, accusing the ruling party of using assistive devices as weapons, and expressing strong dissatisfaction with the ruling party's violent behavior.
