Since his mother was diagnosed with cancer, he has had to be more mature than his peers, learning to cook, clean, and take care of his sick mother, even trying to seek help from the outside.

Xiao Hao once secretly called his father, hoping to borrow some money so his mother could receive treatment, but he was met with ridicule. This statement became a shadow in his heart, leading him to need psychological counseling to overcome the gloom.

This time, the staff from the "Continuation of Love Charity Association" visited New Taipei's Shulin District, where they found Xiao Hao quietly sitting beside his mother, A Ting (pseudonym). A Ting is 54 years old and was a nurse in her early years, fully supporting her husband in pursuing his doctorate after marriage, giving up her career to focus on household duties. However, after being diagnosed with bladder cancer five years ago, her husband not only failed to lend a helping hand, but easily won a divorce lawsuit by using "unable to fulfill marital obligations" as a reason. Although the court ruled that her ex-husband must pay 12,000 NT dollars in alimony each month, it remains difficult for the mother and son to get by, relying entirely on A Ting's income as a home care worker during her illness.

Earlier this year, A Ting's condition worsened again, with cancer cells having metastasized to her uterus. The doctor suggested she undergo expensive treatment as soon as possible, but for this mother and son, the cost is simply unattainable. A Ting had applied for low-income household subsidies but was rejected due to her ex-husband's high income.

During the visit, Xiao Hao tried hard not to cry so as not to worry his mother. He is acutely aware of their situation and feels anxious because they cannot find the funds for treatment.

After understanding the situation, the association's staff decided to provide financial support for the living and medical needs of the mother and son, hoping to help them get through this difficult time and not be forgotten by society.
