Mayor Wang Hwei-mei of Changhua recently led a delegation to Denmark with the aim of learning from the country's successful experiences in sustainable urban development and green initiatives. Renowned as a green nation, Denmark has advanced environmental technologies and made significant progress in renewable energy, attracting city representatives from around the globe for study visits.

The delegation's itinerary was packed, including visits to exemplary green city projects such as the central improvement plan in Copenhagen and communities primarily powered by renewable energy. Mayor Wang expressed hope that this visit would not only bring back practical data and technologies but also identify the most suitable sustainable development solutions for Changhua through exchanges with Danish experts.

During their visit, the delegation was deeply impressed by Denmark's innovations in designing green public spaces, especially how urban planning effectively integrates natural elements to enhance the quality of life for residents. Moreover, the transportation systems in Denmark left a strong impression, particularly the setup of bicycle lanes that allow citizens to reduce their reliance on cars, further mitigating traffic congestion and air pollution.

Following the visit, Mayor Wang issued a statement indicating that Changhua would increase investment in green technologies and actively promote related policies to enhance urban sustainability. She emphasized that as a responsible city leader, it is vital to constantly pay attention to environmental changes and their consequences while seeking innovative solutions to address these challenges.
