The open kitchen design combines with an island bar, offering multifunctional uses. The master bedroom overlooks the campus scenery and is equipped with a large closet and a reading desk, while the second bedroom has flexible functions to meet future needs. The homeowner of this case is a young teacher who chose a 16-ping single-story residence located near the school. In terms of design, the designer followed the homeowner's preference for a Japanese minimalist style, combining simple and smooth lines and colors to plan a layout of 2 bedrooms and 1 living room. After fully communicating the needs with the homeowner, it was decided to transform the living room into a public social study, allowing the homeowner to enjoy reading time here or serve as a welcoming space when friends visit.
Upon entering the interior, the warm real wood veneer and wood-patterned tile floor create a naturally healing home atmosphere. As the cabinetry extends, it not only provides ample storage space but also guides the flow and expands the sense of space. Since the homeowner has a lower demand for the living room, an open study area with good lighting is designed, complemented by a full wall of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves that properly stores the homeowner's collection and teaching materials.
To enhance the efficiency of the kitchen space, an open design is also adopted for the kitchen. In addition to a linear kitchen setup, an island bar with hanging cabinets is designed. A storage area for electrical appliances is integrated below the bar, allowing the island to serve multiple functions such as meal preparation, storage, and light dining.
The master bedroom faces the campus, offering beautiful natural green views and providing a comfortable and relaxing environment for the homeowner after work and on weekends. The designer created a large wardrobe and reading desk, adding practicality. The secondary bedroom retains flexible usage, designed with a styled cabinetry approach, allowing for future adjustments to the space's functionality based on different needs.
This residence located next to the school, viewed from the window, presents the beautiful campus scenery like a splendid painting. The designer skillfully merges the tranquility and stability of Japanese style and chooses materials that are easy to clean and maintain, creating a home life full of the aroma of books for the homeowner.
