The Central Weather Bureau predicts that today the cloud system from South China will move eastward, bringing localized brief showers to northern Taiwan, the eastern part, and the Hengchun Peninsula. The temperature in the northern regions and Yilan will drop to 16 or 17 degrees, while central and southern Taiwan will be around 18 to 21 degrees. Daytime highs will reach 20 or 21 degrees in the north, 23 to 25 degrees in the central region, and 27 to 29 degrees in the south, with a noticeable temperature difference between the northern and southern areas. From Monday to Wednesday, the effects of the cloud system from South China will continue, but the rain will not be persistent. Weather conditions will be more unstable from Thursday to Friday, with the possibility of thunderstorms. The mountainous areas may face risks of snowfall or ice accumulation, so safety precautions should be taken when going outdoors. In the offshore islands, there will be localized brief showers, and air quality alerts are issued for the northern and central regions regarding pollutant accumulation.

The Central Weather Bureau stated that today (5th), the South China cloud system is moving eastward, significantly increasing moisture. The northern, eastern half of the region, Hengchun Peninsula, and the central and southern mountainous areas will see localized brief showers, while sporadic rain is expected in the central plains. It is recommended to carry rain gear when going out just in case. The southern plains will mainly experience cloudy weather.

Regarding temperatures, the low temperature in the northern and Yilan-Hualien areas is around 16 to 17 degrees Celsius, while central and southern regions and Taitung are expected to be around 18 to 21 degrees. Daytime high temperatures will significantly decrease due to rainfall, with the north and Yilan around 20 to 21 degrees, central and Hualien-Taitung 24 to 25 degrees, and the south remaining at 27 to 29 degrees. There is a considerable temperature difference between the north and south, so travelers coming from the south to the north should pay special attention to temperature changes.

The weather bureau pointed out that from Monday to Wednesday (7th to 9th), the area will continue to be influenced by the South China cloud system, with localized brief showers likely in the northern region, eastern half, Hengchun Peninsula, and southern mountainous areas, while other regions will mainly be cloudy. However, the influence of the South China cloud system will not result in continuous rainfall all day long; the rainfall pattern will be intermittent due to fluctuating cloud systems, and there may be dry intervals.

As for Thursday to Friday (10th to 11th), the weather will become more unstable due to the influence of a frontal system. Brief showers or thunderstorms will occur in the northern region and central part on Thursday, with localized heavy rainfall possible. Other areas will see localized brief showers or thunderstorms, while on Friday, as the front moves slightly away, the northern, eastern half, and central and southern mountainous areas will have localized brief showers, while the remaining regions will be cloudy. The specific timing of the frontal system's influence has not yet been determined, but as it approaches Taiwan, all areas are likely to experience showers or thunderstorms, especially the central and northern regions where localized heavy rainfall is expected.

Additionally, in high mountain areas above 3500 meters in the central region and north, there may be chances of solid precipitation or sporadic snowfall today; road surfaces may also experience icing or frost, making them slippery, so those heading to mountainous areas should pay attention to weather changes and their own safety.

Regarding the weather in the offshore islands, today it will transition to localized brief showers; the temperature in the Penghu area is about 19 to 23 degrees, Kinmen is 17 to 22 degrees, while Matsu is between 15 to 19 degrees.

According to the Environmental Protection Administration's air quality forecast, today, due to the influence of easterly winds and high-pressure circulation, the dispersal conditions in the western half are poor, making it easier for pollutants to accumulate. In the afternoon, due to photochemical reactions, ozone concentrations are also likely to rise. During the Qingming holiday period, many local cultural activities will take place, so attention should be paid to the possibility of a short-term rise in concentration.
