In order to care for middle school graduates who have not pursued further education or employment, the Hualien County Government launched the "Youth Career Exploration Project" in 2020, helping young people aged 15 to 18 find their career direction. The program includes counseling sessions, diverse exploration courses, and workplace experiences, and it collaborates with social welfare organizations and community groups for promotion, aiming to provide support before students graduate. In 2024, various career exploration activities will be held, such as dessert making, car maintenance, and hotel practices, allowing young people to discover their abilities and future goals through vocational exploration.

In order to care for and accompany junior high school graduates who have not pursued further education or employment, the Hualien County Government has been applying for the "Youth Career Exploration Project" from the Ministry of Education's Youth Development Agency since 2020. This project targets youths aged 15 to under 18, aiming to help them find their career direction and strengths, and to assist them in adapting to study or work.

The counselors in the project, along with the head of the counseling team at the Hualien County Student Counseling Center, have been visiting various junior high schools, high schools, vocational schools, social welfare institutions, and community organizations since 2022, actively promoting the goals and features of the project. They hope to provide early support to those youths who feel confused about their future, working together with teachers and helpers.

Through the "Youth Exploration Project," the program offers caring counseling sessions, arranges a variety of career exploration courses, and collaborates with friendly businesses from various industries to give youths the opportunity to gain "work experience" in real workplaces. This helps them understand the work environment, workplace ecology, and related job content, while connecting local resources in a timely manner to meet the needs of the youths.

The "Youth Exploration Project" held a series of career exploration activities from April 17 to June 5, 2025, including: dessert making, food and beverage practical operations, stable management and animal care experience, car maintenance and hands-on practice, hotel practical operations, beverage knowledge and operations, basic knowledge and operations of AI, backpacker hostel recognition and housekeeping experience, car washing, cleaning, and beautification, among others. Through friendly instructors from various industries, the project hopes to accompany more youths in discovering their personal career directions and goals, and find their own abilities and strengths through ongoing career exploration activities.
