As Taiwan enters a super-aged society and health awareness increases, the demand for professional talent in the medical and health industry is growing significantly. The Department of Health Business Management at Hu Ying University plans to establish the "Disease Classification Talent Cultivation Center" and the "Smart Pharmaceutical Marketing Talent Cultivation Center." Through industry-university collaboration and professional certification training, these centers aim to cultivate health industry professionals with specialized knowledge and practical skills, providing the necessary professional manpower for hospitals, pharmacies, and other institutions, thus enhancing the talent supply chain in the comprehensive health industry.
The director of the Health Business Management Department pointed out that under the trend of the comprehensive health industry, career development opportunities for health management students are extensive. A significant change in the department is the establishment of the "Disease Classification Talent Cultivation Center" and the "Smart Pharmaceutical Marketing Talent Cultivation Center," which combine innovative courses in artificial intelligence, industry-university collaboration, and practical training to assist students in obtaining Disease Classification Specialist certification and Pharmaceutical Marketing Specialist certification, benefiting their career development. In the era of the comprehensive health industry, certification as a Pharmaceutical Marketing Specialist is equivalent to a ticket to enter the pharmaceutical marketing sector. Currently, the number of pharmacies in Taiwan even exceeds that of the four major convenience stores, leading to a considerable demand for manpower. The jobs are stable, and the salary, benefits, and bonuses are quite attractive. Therefore, the establishment of the "Smart Pharmaceutical Marketing Talent Cultivation Center" aims to nurture talents that meet market demands.
The principal stated that with the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology and the rise of global health trends, the development trend of the comprehensive health industry is increasingly globalized, and the Health Business Management Department plays a crucial role in this process. Faculty and students are integrating AI technology for intelligent teaching, continuously innovating in both teaching and practical aspects, and it is necessary to use innovative thinking and management expertise to cultivate professionals in the health industry to make them the most sought-after talent in the market.
The Health Management Department has also innovatively established the first intern certification ceremony in Taiwan, granting intern identification cards to students undertaking paid internships at medical institutions and pharmacies, symbolizing their formal entry into the workforce. They hope to apply the knowledge they have learned to practice and become key talent in the health industry in the future. The supervisor emphasized that Disease Classification Specialists are vital for the operation of medical institutions, as they can contribute to the health industry without needing to work shifts, balancing quality of life and compensation, which makes it an ideal job choice.
Additionally, the Health Management Department had fourteen students pass the Disease Classification Specialist (Assistant) qualification exam in 2023. With the establishment of the "Disease Classification Talent Cultivation Center," it is believed that more students will achieve their career dreams. The school has also received employment program subsidies from relevant organizations and has launched programs for Smart Pharmaceutical Marketing and Business Talent Cultivation, as well as Practical Training in Disease Classification Talent Cultivation, to help students enhance their skills. At the same time, to help high school students understand the development of the health industry, the school hosted the "Intelligent and Brave Health Winter Camp," where interesting courses like "Wu Lin APP," "Program Hero," and "Physician Wu Lin" were conducted to educate and entertain, guiding participants to use digital technology to solve health management issues.
