The Taipei Youth Office has launched the "Youth Innovation Internship Subsidy," which offers a maximum subsidy of 150,000 NTD for internship guidance fees for startups and NPO organizations. This program is specifically designed for companies, business entities, legal persons, organizations, as well as NPOs and NGOs that have been established in Taipei City for less than eight years.
The Youth Office hopes to assist young people in accumulating workplace experience early through internship opportunities, helping them to explore career directions and facilitate their entry into the job market. The "Youth Innovation Internship Subsidy" encourages startups, social enterprises, and public welfare organizations to serve as internship providers and mentor the intern youth, with a maximum subsidy of 150,000 NTD available. Through a "learning by doing" approach, the program aims to help young people gain experience and grow alongside the organizations.
The head of the Career Support Division of the Youth Office stated that in order to encourage young people in Taipei to participate in internships during their studies and prepare for employment, besides launching the "Youth Internship Allowance" last year, this year they have also introduced this subsidy to continuously provide more internship opportunities for youth.
Startups or NPO organizations often face challenges of insufficient manpower in operations, so this subsidy mechanism will assist companies in cultivating future talent. Given that the structures of these organizations are generally relatively flat, youth can quickly accumulate professional skills and practical experience during their internships, creating a win-win situation.
Businesses or organizations applying for the subsidy must be institutions established in Taipei City for less than eight years, or non-profit organizations providing internship positions. Each intern must work at least 64 hours per month and receive wages along with labor insurance coverage. This program will provide each intern a maximum subsidy of 6,000 NTD per month; if they are recent graduates from universities or higher, the subsidy amount can be raised to 12,000 NTD per month, with applications available for up to six months, and each internship provider can apply for a maximum subsidy of 150,000 NTD per year.
Currently, the Youth Office has set up an "Internship Matching Zone" on the "Taipei Youth Career Development Platform," where approved internship providers can post job openings. Youth can search for various internship opportunities and submit their resumes, encouraging interested startups and NPO organizations to actively apply and jointly assist Taipei youth in creating new workplace opportunities.
