A volunteer with the surname Chen from Keelung took advantage of his position to misappropriate over 4,000 winning invoices between 2018 and 2020, illegally profiting more than 1.01 million NTD. The National Taxation Bureau discovered the abnormal frequency of winning invoices and promptly reported it to the Genesis Foundation. In the end, Chen was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison and his illegal gains were confiscated. The Genesis Foundation stated that it will strengthen invoice verification and management measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
