In that game, after hitting a three-pointer in the first quarter, Morant made the gun gesture with both hands, ultimately leading the Grizzlies to victory with 30 points, winning 110 to 108.

After the game, Morant responded to criticism of his behavior, stating, "I'm kind of used to it. For the past two years, I've been seen as the bad guy, and some small things always get brought up. Yes, I don't care anymore." In the game on the 1st, he also made the gun gesture alongside a Warriors guard, who also received a warning from the league.

As a two-time NBA All-Star, Morant has been a starter in all 47 games this season, averaging 22.9 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.2 rebounds.
