In the first round of the 2025 Augusta Women's Amateur Championship, Taiwanese player Hsu Huai-Chien shot a score of 74, currently tied for 49th place and needs to improve to advance. This tournament has been held since 2019 and serves as an important stage for female amateur golfers worldwide. The first two rounds are taking place at the secluded Augusta Country Club, with the top 30 players advancing to the finals, which will be held at the historic Augusta Club. Taiwanese players have participated every year since the tournament began, with the best performance being a tie for 5th place achieved by Lu Hsin-Yu in 2023. This year, Stanford University has eight players invited to participate, maintaining the excitement of top universities in the competition. Leading the first round is Stanford's collegiate golfer Gainey, who set the pace with an outstanding score of 63.

Since its inception, there has been a Taiwanese player invited every year, with Lu Hsin-yu achieving the best performance in 2023, tying for 5th place. In that same year, Huang Ting-hsuan finished tied for 22nd, which was also the only year a Taiwanese player advanced. This competition is not only a platform for amateur players but also became a competitive stage for U.S. college golf teams starting from the year before last. This year, the prestigious Stanford University invited 8 players, the most of any university in the U.S.

Although Hsu Huai-hsien experienced a bogey on the 8th hole, her spirits remained unaffected, and she proceeded to make a birdie on the 9th hole. Unfortunately, upon returning to the back nine, she faced more bogeys on the par-4 13th and 16th holes. Stanford University player Megha Ganne performed excellently in the first round, posting 7 birdies, 1 eagle, and 0 mistakes, with a stunning score of 63, 9 strokes under par, leading the field by 2 strokes.
