The Taitung County Government will launch the "Southward Coastal Scenic Journey" double-decker bus tour from April 11 to 13, 2025, inviting travelers to deeply explore the beauty and culture of the East Coast. The activity will start from Dawu, passing through the Alang Yi Ancient Trail and Jinlun Hot Springs, with a limit of 30 participants each day at a cost of 800 TWD. Tourists will ride on a double-decker bus, enjoying the sea breeze and stunning scenery, experiencing the joy of "coastal flying." Registration is available at the Grand Butterfly Orchid Travel Agency, located at No. 8, Chuan Guang Road, Taitung City, which also provides convenient transportation shuttle information. Highlights of the itinerary include the Alang Yi Ancient Trail, the Da-ren VuVu Wild Vegetable Meal, and the leisure experience at Jinlun Hot Springs.
In order to allow more travelers to deeply explore the beautiful scenery and cultural charm of the East Coast, the Taitung County Government is launching a three-day "Southbound Coastal Flying Fun" double-decker bus tourism event from April 11 to 13 this year. Each day's itinerary will start from Dawo and tour attractions such as the Alangyi Ancient Trail and Jinlun Hot Springs. Each session is limited to thirty travelers, with a cost of eight hundred NT dollars per person, allowing everyone to enjoy a rich and unforgettable little trip along the East Coast. Everyone is welcome to sign up and experience the fun of riding on a double-decker bus as if it were "flying along the coast."
The Department of Transportation and Tourism Development indicated that the tour will start from Dawo Train Station, where travelers will take a sightseeing double-decker bus to visit the Alangyi Ancient Trail and have a meal at the Dahren VuVu Wild Vegetable Farm, then proceed along the most beautiful highway, passing by Duoliang Station waiting pavilion, Jinlun Hot Springs, and cafes, providing travelers with a comprehensive sensory feast from mountains to the sea, and from culture to healing.
The Tourism Development Department noted that during this three-day trip, tourists will ride an open-top double-decker bus traveling north along the most beautiful road in the Southbound area, enjoying the sea breeze and the astonishing waves crashing against the shore, as if flying along the Southbound coast. Due to the limited number of double-decker buses in the country, the rental cost is more than twice that of traditional buses. To promote new tourism itineraries, the county government provides subsidies for the rental of double-decker buses. Tourists only need to cover travel liability insurance, lunch, and the admission fee for the Jinlun Hot Spring or an equivalent coffee snack, making the actual out-of-pocket expense eight hundred NT dollars to enjoy the most beautiful journey.
For travelers wishing to sign up, those from central and southern Taiwan can take the THSR No. 371 to Dawo directly, while travelers from the east can take a bus or travel to Dawo Train Station by themselves for easy connection to the itinerary. Return trips are also thoughtfully arranged with train transfer information, ensuring you can travel with peace of mind and return home happily.
- Itinerary highlights:
