Although the business has been informed that the parking space is improperly marked, it has still sparked controversy. The netizen questioned why a legally established private parking lot would have issues and called on other drivers to be vigilant about this situation. In the comments, some supported police enforcement, while others mentioned the possibility of seeking a complaint.

A netizen recently dined at a restaurant in Beitun District, Taichung City, and parked their car in the designated parking space of the establishment, only to receive a ticket from the police. The reason given by the police was that "the operator has been informed not to mark the parking spaces this way, and the back of your vehicle has extended beyond the sidewalk, which constitutes a violation." This left the netizen quite confused. After the post was made public, reactions were polarized among netizens; some believed that "the police are enforcing the law properly," while others suggested "it might be worth filing a complaint."

The netizen posted on social media "Breaking News Community Public Edition" stating that on the afternoon of the 3rd of this month, he went to the restaurant for a meal and confirmed that his vehicle was parked in a designated safe space, yet still received a ticket. He mentioned that the police were still on the scene at the time, and when he inquired about the reason, the police explained, "We have informed the operator that this marking is not compliant, and since the tail of your vehicle is on the sidewalk, it is a violation."

In response, the netizen questioned why a private parking lot, which was legally established by the city government's transportation bureau, would have the restaurant's parking space markings approved. Additionally, he pointed out that the length of the parking space evidently does not meet regulations, and the police should have reported the issue to the relevant authorities and operators for improvement. "Did you know? The police actually told me to go to the operator to raise the issue, so everyone please be extra careful if you plan to park here!" he added.

The post sparked heated discussions, with many netizens commenting below, "You should complain and handle it with the person who caused your violation; the police are enforcing the law properly," and "What’s the problem with the police issuing a ticket for your violation? You should demand compensation from the operator," among other opinions. Some suggested, "Don’t panic too much; wait until you receive the ticket before filing a complaint," or "Submit the pictures and then discuss it."

Additionally, some pointed out, "It’s unclear where the sidewalk is; this is practically a trap. If the operator does not address the issue, at the very least, they should provide signage in the parking lot to alert drivers."
