He expressed that he often experiences appearance anxiety and has no skills in cooking, not even able to fry an egg, which made the media present laugh, showcasing his humble and relatable side.

In 2020, he won the title of "National Treasure-Level Handsome Guy" at a women's fashion magazine poll, with over 450,000 votes, setting a record for the highest number of votes in history, thus earning the title of "National Treasure-Level Beautiful Face." Regarding the compliments from the public, he said he is not unfamiliar with them and especially likes his nose and facial contours. However, he admitted that he also experiences moments of appearance anxiety: "Recently, I've been worried that my eyes seem a bit uneven, and I have no idea why."

Nagase Ren plays a "life idiot" from a wealthy family in the drama "It's Too Hard to Love the Rich Young Master." In real life, he is also not good at cooking and cannot even fry a basic egg. He stated that he lacks motivation to learn and often makes disastrous dishes. However, he recently took on a dumpling endorsement and mentioned that he has learned to fry dumplings, which he is quite satisfied with.

Visiting Taiwan for the first time, Nagase Ren was amazed by the new things he encountered, like the many scooters on the streets and the Chinese character signs. He also remarked, "I felt the enthusiasm of the fans during the meet-and-greet. It should be me making everyone excited, but instead, their enthusiasm inspired me even more. I also want to compete with the fans to see who can be more excited."

He also mentioned that if he has free time, he would like to explore the night market and hopes to start with some basic introductory spots. If given the opportunity, he would buy some souvenirs and then delve deeper into exploring the city. He lastly noted the positive feedback he saw on social media regarding the pre-recorded New Year's Eve special he participated in at the beginning of the year, expressing his hope that one day he can hold a concert in Taiwan as a group with King & Prince, allowing fans to not only travel to Japan to see them, but for them to come to Taiwan to meet everyone.
