As the four-day Qingming holiday is set to end, tomorrow is the last day of the holiday, and a significant influx of northbound traffic is expected. Therefore, the Ministry of Transportation's National Freeway Bureau has announced that there will be 13 sections of national highways likely to experience congestion tomorrow, and multiple traffic control measures will be implemented, including the closure of certain ramps, while the National Highway 5 will also undergo regulation.
According to data from the National Freeway Bureau, as of 3 PM on the 5th, the traffic volume on the entire national highway system was 59.3 million vehicle kilometers, with today's traffic expected to reach 120 million vehicle kilometers. For the southbound National Highway 5, as of 3 PM, the number of vehicles passing through the Snow Tunnel was 21,228, an increase of about 17% compared to the same period last year.
Regarding tomorrow's forecast, the National Freeway Bureau estimates that the traffic volume on national highways will reach 111 million vehicle kilometers, which is 1.2 times the average daily annual volume of 92 million vehicle kilometers. Northbound traffic volume is expected to reach 64 million vehicle kilometers, or 1.4 times the average daily annual volume. The main congestion sections predicted for tomorrow include:

The National Freeway Bureau recommends that travelers planning to head north on the western national highways should depart before 9 AM if in the southern region; travelers from the central region are advised to set out before 12 PM, while those heading north on National Highway 5 should leave before 9 AM to save time.
At the same time, the National Freeway Bureau explained tomorrow's traffic management measures, including: from 12 PM to 9 PM, closure of the National Highway 1 Fujou and Puyan system and the northbound entrance of National Highway 3 West; from 1 PM to 6 PM, high occupancy restrictions on the northbound entrances of National Highway 5 at Su'ao, Luodong, Yilan, and Toucheng; and from 12 AM to 5 AM, the suspension of tolls, opening of shoulders, alternative roads, and ramp control measures.
