During the Tomb-Sweeping Festival holiday, the FTSE Taiwan Index showed a significant drop of 9.1%. If this decline is applied to the Taiwan stock market, considering the 21,298.22 points before the holiday, it is expected to drop about 1,900 points when the market opens next Monday. Some experts even pointed out that if there is additional pressure from margin calls, the drop could reach 2,000 points.

Trump announced global tariffs, leading to a massive plunge in the U.S. stock market, which recorded declines of over 1,500 points for two consecutive days, with a total market value decreasing by approximately $6 trillion (around NT$198.6 trillion). This financial storm could also affect the performance of the Taiwan stock market after the holiday. Executive Yuan Premier Su Tseng-chang held a meeting on the 5th, inviting the Central Bank, the Financial Supervisory Commission, the Ministry of Finance, and other agencies to report on relevant financial measures.

Financial expert Di Xiang also pointed out that if the decline continues, the Taiwan stock market may conservatively estimate a drop of 1,800 points next Monday; if margin selling pressure is added, there could even be another significant decline of 2,000 points.

In light of this uncertainty, experts recommend that investors increase the proportion of cash in hand as soon as possible and consider allocating to hedging assets. Regarding measures for the Taiwan stock market's opening on Monday, officials from the Executive Yuan stated that Su Tseng-chang analyzed the current state of the Taiwanese financial system during the meeting, reviewed relevant policies, listened to the investment conditions of Taiwanese businesses abroad, and continued discussions on further supporting the overall industrial chain. Any concrete measures will be announced in a timely manner.
