In Taichung, at the Dajia Jenn Lann Temple, a 9-day pilgrimage event has officially begun, attracting over 600,000 devotees. Kuomintang legislator Fu Kun-Chi and his wife Hsu Chen-Wei stood in the center to welcome Mazu and called on the goddess to bless Taiwan in facing the tariff war. He emphasized the need for unity and expressed hope to prevent Taiwan from becoming the next Ukraine. The green camp criticized him for using religion for political manipulation and mocked him for his awkwardness during last year's Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage. This year, the couple changed their position to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

The 9-day, 8-night pilgrimage event of the Dajia Zhenlan Temple in Taichung officially kicked off, attracting over 600,000 devotees to witness the ceremony. Kuomintang caucus leader Fu Kuan-chi and his wife, Hualien County Commissioner Hsu Chen-wei, stood in a prominent position to welcome the Dajia Mazu. Fu Kuan-chi stated that this is the moment when we need the blessings of the Mother to protect Taiwan. In response, the Green camp questioned Fu Kuan-chi’s motives, claiming that he does not truly have faith and instead harbors ulterior motives. As fireworks and firecrackers erupted, the palanquin of Dajia Mazu set off late at night, officially commencing the pilgrimage activities. Standing in the center were not only the chairman of the Zhenlan Temple, Yan Ching-piao, but also Fu Kuan-chi and his wife. Fu Kuan-chi expressed, "The pilgrimage begins as we set off; we started a bit late yesterday." The couple held hands while following Dajia Mazu to pray for blessings. Before the departure, Fu Kuan-chi accepted a media interview where he expressed hopes for cross-strait peace, warning Taiwan not to become the next Ukraine, and mentioned the effects of the United States raising tariffs on Taiwan to 32% on industries, accusing the government of pushing citizens towards war. Fu Kuan-chi emphasized that Taiwan needs unity the most and asked for the Mother's blessings to enable Taiwan to quickly establish economic and trade alliances with countries around the world, especially beyond the United States.

Regarding Fu Kuan-chi's expressed wishes, Democratic Progressive Party legislator Shen Po-yang responded that he believes Fu Kuan-chi’s actions are merely an attempt to use religious activities for political maneuvering and to divert attention from the pressure of his recall. He criticized Fu Kuan-chi for still using external situations to manipulate internal issues when faced with tariff problems. Similarly, the Democratic Progressive Party also accused Fu Kuan-chi of being eager to seek divine intervention due to the recall tide. Reflecting on last year’s pilgrimage of the Baishatun Mazu, Fu Kuan-chi and his wife had waited by the tour bus to welcome the deity but were ignored, which made him feel embarrassed. This year, they chose a prominent position at the starting point, obviously hoping to avoid a repeat of that experience. City councilor Chou Yung-hong bluntly stated that Fu Kuan-chi does not need to pretend to be devout, suggesting that he has ulterior motives. There are various opinions on Fu Kuan-chi's real motivations for joining the 600,000 devotees in this pilgrimage to seek blessings.
