According to police investigations, the incident occurred during Mazu's procession due to a pushing conflict. Although the victim was unwilling to press charges, the police will still handle the case according to the law. The Dajia police urged the public to maintain respect and reason while participating in events and emphasized that any group fighting behavior will be strictly investigated.

The pilgrimage activity of Dajia Mazu has kicked off with great excitement, but a video has circulated online showing a man allegedly clashing with staff, even picking up a motorcycle helmet to attack temple personnel. After receiving reports, the police immediately arrested the involved man surnamed Huang and transferred him for legal proceedings according to the Social Order Maintenance Act.

According to the police investigation, the video was uploaded in the "Black Hao Family" group on the messaging app Telegram, describing an incident during the Mazu palanquin's procession at Dajia Zhenlan Temple. It involved members of the Zhenlan Temple and members of a group dressed in white clashing, which led to dissatisfaction from that group, prompting them to randomly grab a helmet from a motorcycle on the side of the road to attack the members of Zhenlan Temple.

Upon receiving the report, the police quickly dispatched a rapid response team to the scene, but the involved man had already left after the incident. After understanding the situation, the police notified the beaten man surnamed Huang from Zhenlan Temple to explain at the scene. Mr. Huang stated that due to the large crowd for Dajia Mazu’s procession, there was likely friction between the Zhenlan Temple members clearing the way for Mazu's palanquin and the group dressed in white, provoking their dissatisfaction and leading to the attack. However, Mr. Huang expressed a reluctance to file any criminal charges.

After reviewing surveillance footage, the Dajia police confirmed the identity of the suspect surnamed Huang and notified him to explain the details of the case. The case was ultimately handled according to Article 87 of the Social Order Maintenance Act, which states "adding violence to a person." The Dajia Police Bureau also reminded that the Dajia Mazu pilgrimage event, attended by thousands of devotees, is an annual religious celebration, and all participants should maintain a respectful and rational attitude, understanding that pushing and waiting can inevitably occur during the event. They hope everyone can show mutual tolerance and work together to maintain a safe and harmonious environment for the pilgrimage. If public fighting or disturbances occur during the event, the police will handle it strictly according to the law, showing no leniency.
