The pilgrimage event at the Dajia Zhenlan Temple in Taichung has officially commenced, attracting over 600,000 devotees. Kuomintang Legislative Yuan caucus leader Fu Kun-chi and his wife, Hsu Chen-wei, welcomed Dajia Mazu in the center position. Fu expressed his hope for the Mother Goddess to bless Taiwan in facing international challenges. However, the Democratic Progressive Party criticized Fu Kun-chi for using religion for political maneuvering, recalling the awkward situation they faced last year when they were ignored during the Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage.

The 9-day, 8-night pilgrimage event at Dajia Zhenlan Temple in Taichung officially commenced, attracting over 600,000 devotees to witness the occasion. Kuomintang's legislative caucus leader Fu Kun-chi and his wife, Hualien County Magistrate Hsu Chen-wei, also welcomed the arrival of Dajia Mazu at the center stage. Fu Kun-chi stated that the current trade war needs the blessings of the mother goddess. The Green Camp retaliated, accusing Fu Kun-chi of not being a sincere believer but rather someone with ulterior motives.

With the sound of fireworks and firecrackers, the palanquin of Dajia Mazu set off in the deep of night, beginning the 9-day pilgrimage. Notably, aside from the chairman of Zhenlan Temple, Yen Ching-piao, Fu Kun-chi and his wife also stood at the center. At the start of the journey, Fu Kun-chi mentioned that yesterday's schedule was a bit late. They held hands while praying beside Dajia Mazu. In an interview before departure, Fu Kun-chi called for peace across the Taiwan Strait and mentioned that the U.S. tariffs on Taiwan have risen to 32%, questioning the future direction of the industry and criticizing the government for pushing the people into war. He emphasized that Taiwan needs unity the most right now, yearning for the mother goddess's blessings to promote economic and trade cooperation with the world, especially with countries outside the U.S.

DPP legislator Shen Bo-yang pointed out that Fu Kun-chi's actions seemed aimed at bringing the main deity back home and using external circumstances for internal political maneuvers to divert attention from large-scale recall efforts. Regarding Fu Kun-chi's eagerness to seek divine favor, the Green Camp stated that this was a response to the pressure of the recall. Looking back at last year's pilgrimage of the Bai Sha Tun Mazu, Fu Kun-chi and his wife were ignored while welcoming the deity beside a tour bus; this year they chose to stand in the main position to avoid experiencing such awkward situations again.

Taichung City Councilor Chou Yong-hong criticized Fu Kun-chi for not needing to pretend to be a sincere believer, as his actions were actually self-serving. This time, welcoming Mazu alongside 600,000 devotees, what Fu Kun-chi truly seeks is well understood by everyone.
