Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang stated that next week he will hold a joint industry forum with Legislator Lin Pei-hsiang to listen to the opinions of manufacturers and strengthen guidance. In addition, the city government will assess the challenges facing Keelung's industries and propose three major response measures: building a communication platform, evaluating industry risks, and enhancing support for manufacturers. Hsieh Kuo-liang emphasized that the city government will continuously monitor the international situation to ensure stable development for Keelung's industries. Lin Pei-hsiang highlighted the need to respond to international changes promptly.

The mayor of Keelung recently stated that next week, a joint industry seminar will be held with legislators to specifically listen to the opinions of businesses and to strengthen support for local and overseas manufacturers.

In response to this tariff impact, the mayor of Keelung pointed out that the central government should actively develop response plans in international economic and trade negotiations, industrial chain layout, and stabilization of the Taiwan stock market, and provide explanations to the public as soon as possible. In Keelung, the mayor has tasked relevant departments to quickly compile the challenges that industries may face, including orders moving abroad, rising costs, and tariff barriers, and to assess the indirect impact of price fluctuations on citizens' daily lives.

Keelung currently has two major industrial zones, Dalu Lun and Liudu, as well as key industry partners. In the face of the current instability in international politics and economics, the city government will do its best to maintain the stability and sustainable development of the industry, and assist local industries in addressing challenges in three aspects.

• First, establishing a communication and coordination platform. The city government has invited representatives from the industrial zones and will hold a joint industry seminar next week to gather industry opinions, propose specific policy recommendations, and integrate resources from the central and local governments to respond swiftly and stabilize the industry.
• Second, for export-oriented industries such as information and communication, electronics, manufacturing, and processing that are affected by tariffs, an immediate risk classification and demand survey will be conducted, which will serve as an important basis for future policy formulation and resource allocation.
• Finally, strengthening support for local and overseas manufacturers. Some manufacturers in Keelung have bases in Vietnam, Thailand, and other locations, and will also bear the first wave of impact. The city government will work through the Department of Economic Development, combining the strengths of central authorities and legislative members, to grasp the current situation of business operations and labor rights, and timely reflect it to the central government to jointly formulate countermeasures.

The mayor emphasized that the city government will continue to pay attention to the international situation and maintain close cooperation with legislators, committed to safeguarding the healthy development of Keelung's industry to ensure citizens' stable lives. Legislators also stated that in the face of changes in the international situation, industries must prepare in advance and cannot afford to wait any longer.
