33-year-old Zhu Yuxian exercised his free agent rights last postseason, transferring from the Rakuten Monkeys to the Wei Chuan Dragons. Today's game against the Fubon Guardians was his fourth of the season, having accumulated 998 hits prior to the game. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, he hit a double, bringing in one run for the team, and then in the bottom of the 5th inning, he hit a solo home run off the pitcher You Tingwei, successfully breaking the 1,000-hit milestone.
Moreover, Zhu Yuxian's 1,000th hit was achieved in the form of a home run, making him the second player in CPBL history to accomplish this feat; the first was a player from Chinatrust Brothers who reached 1,000 hits in 2020. Zhu Yuxian's home run is also his 170th of his career, placing him 18th in CPBL history among those who have achieved 1,000 hits and 100 home runs.
