It is hoped that through these two meetings, the industry can directly express their views and needs, while the government is committed to providing maximum support to stabilize the economic situation.

According to participants' reports, everyone unanimously agreed that the government should utilize existing negotiation leverage, without rushing to disclose details, and should prioritize proposing an industry reassurance plan. The purpose of the meeting held at the presidential residence is to establish a medium- to long-term response strategy layout.

The spokesperson for the Presidential Office stated that President Lai has invited several representatives from the information and communications industry to hold the meeting and listen to the industry's opinions and needs, thereby further explaining the government's response measures. The goal is to provide the maximum support for the industry, ensuring Taiwan's industrial competitiveness in the global market and the robust development of the national economy.

The Premier also held a press conference recently, focusing on explaining the impact of the U.S. tariff policy on Taiwan's industry and announced an 88 billion New Taiwan Dollar support plan aimed at prioritizing stabilizing industrial confidence, achieving results through multiple forms of cooperation.

Subsequently, the Premier convened the central bank and relevant departments for a meeting to conduct an in-depth discussion on market responses and industry measures after the holiday.

During the meeting, industry representatives engaged in a vigorous discussion about the current market situation and their demands for government support, including the participation of the Premier. Participants generally believed that efforts should be based in Taiwan while also planning for a global layout. Although the response strategies of different countries vary, the U.S. has not yet made a final decision; therefore, observation is necessary. They agreed on the government conducting parallel negotiations for leverage and proactively proposing appropriate industry plans before taking action.
