In 2011, the media reported that she was dating a man who resembled Shido Nakamura, which was later confirmed to be KENJI03, a member of BACK-ON who is of Japanese and Taiwanese Atayal descent, with a Japanese father and a Taiwanese mother. KENJI03 studied in Taiwan during elementary school, and after dating Koda Kumi for about four months, they got married and now have one son, living sweetly together.

As a half-Taiwanese daughter-in-law, Koda Kumi shared photos of her eating at Din Tai Fung in Kaohsiung last week and experienced a traditional Taiwanese massage, stating she gained a lot of energy and felt very healthy.
