Chunghwa Telecom recently announced that HiNet is celebrating its 30th anniversary and launched the optical generation "Speed Must Go 3.0," which allows customers to save up to NT$14,400 when signing up. The service offers a symmetrical bandwidth of 1G for home use at a monthly fee of NT$1,299, with a two-year contract that provides discounts. There are also 500M and 300M plans available, along with a variety of giveaways and experience activities. This initiative aims to meet the growing demand for AI and internet access, enhancing the online usage rate across Taiwan.
Chunghwa Telecom recently announced that HiNet is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary, offering a maximum discount of NT$14,400 for signing up for HiNet's broadband service "Speed Matters 3.0".
Chunghwa Telecom pointed out that since HiNet launched dial-up internet services in April 1995, it introduced ADSL in 1999, launched fiber broadband services in 2007, and in December 2008, the number of fiber broadband customers surpassed 1 million. With the advent of ChatGPT at the end of 2022, the world entered a new wave of AI, and in 2023, HiNet launched 300M and 500M symmetrical bandwidth, with international bandwidth reaching nearly 5,000Gbps. It is expected that Taiwan's internet penetration rate will soar to 88.4% by 2024.
The "Speed Matters 3.0" plan offered by HiNet includes a home plan with symmetrical bandwidth of 1G for NT$1,299 per month, with a two-year contract allowing for a maximum discount of NT$14,400; a 500M symmetrical plan for NT$1,099 per month, and a 300M symmetrical plan for NT$999 per month, all of which include a free rental of one Wi-Fi whole-home device. From now until June 30, new applicants or those upgrading to "Speed Matters 3.0" can enjoy a two-month free trial of Netflix Premium and 24 months of free use of anti-hacking guard services, along with up to 4,200 Hami Points, and more Hami Points bonuses for new rentals at the online store.
In addition, Chunghwa Telecom's online store has launched a limited-time "Speed with Gifts" promotion. Anyone who applies for the 1G home plan at NT$1,299 per month online and signs a 36-month contract will have a chance to take home small appliances from well-known brands like JOHNSON, SAMSUNG, and Panasonic, and can earn up to 3,300 Hami Points. Taiwan Mobile has also launched the "Good Speed Series" project, targeting high-performance combination plans for 5G and Wi-Fi 6.
Far EasTone Telecom, in collaboration with POMI, has launched the "Buy POMI, Million Gifts for You" event. Purchasing specified beverages will allow participants to enter a lottery for chances to win prizes such as the iPhone 16. Long-term customers of Far EasTone can exchange fewer Far EasTone coins for POMI juice, along with other fundraising activities.
