The Taitung County Government held the "65th Science Exhibition Award Ceremony and Science Carnival" on the 28th and 29th, showcasing 6 entries from the national competition and setting up 90 science game booths to engage the public. County Mayor 饒慶鈴 hopes to enhance children's interest in science through fun activities. The event opened with a children's band from Beinan Elementary School, featuring 41 entries from 26 schools, with outstanding works representing Taitung County at the national competition. The county government continues to promote science education, inspiring students' enthusiasm for learning through diverse methods.

The Taitung County Government held the "65th Science Exhibition Award Ceremony and Science Carnival" for two consecutive days on the 28th and 29th at the County Sports Hall. Six works representing Taitung County in the national competition were displayed on-site, along with 90 fun science game booths for children and adults to participate in challenges and redeem prizes. The County Mayor expressed hopes that through science competitions and games, children's interest in science would be cultivated, inviting all interested citizens and students from schools to join.

This event started with a performance by the Pinan Elementary School Children's Band to welcome the guests. The science exhibition was highly competitive, with a total of 41 works from 6 junior high schools and 20 elementary schools participating, and a review took place on March 14 at Pinan Elementary School. After evaluation by 16 experts and scholars, outstanding works were selected, and Donghai Elementary School, Sanmin Elementary School, Donghai Junior High School, and Baosang Junior High School received group awards. Six excellent works will represent Taitung County in the national science exhibition in July.

The 90 science game challenges on-site were set up in collaboration with 30 organizations, including the National Museum of Natural Science, the National Space Organization, National Taitung University, National Chin-Yi University of Technology, and local junior and elementary schools. The activities covered multiple areas such as physics, chemistry, biology, and earth sciences, including indoor activities like "Magnet Penetrating Coil" at Fengrong Elementary School and "Liquid Nitrogen Low-Temperature Experiment" at Fengtyan Junior High School, as well as outdoor ones like "Ocean Action Food Truck" at the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, "Low Carbon Mobile Cinema" at the National Taiwan Science Education Center, and Taitung County's "English Mobile Vehicle." We sincerely invite teachers, students, parents, and community members to explore the rich and exciting world of science through hands-on interactions.

The County Mayor emphasized that the county government is committed to promoting science education and hopes that through diverse and interesting activities, the children of Taitung can "learn by doing" and enhance their scientific literacy. In recent years, the county government has actively collaborated with various sectors, including cooperating with the National Science Council to promote the "Southward Science Train," inviting about 500 students from 11 schools in Taitung to experience scientific exploration. Additionally, for the first time during this year's winter break, a science camp was held in cooperation with the Science Education Center of National Kaohsiung Normal University, laying a foundation for science education in Taitung through hands-on experiences and learning.

The County Mayor also encouraged the award-winning students to persevere and continue to progress in their scientific research endeavors, hoping they can demonstrate outstanding performances in the national science exhibition. It's worth mentioning that this year's "Outstanding Guidance Teacher Award" was given to teachers from Wan'an Elementary School, Baosang Junior High School, and another teacher, thanking them for their long-term contributions to science education. The county government will continue to promote science education, creating a creative learning environment with developmental potential for students, allowing them to explore limitless scientific possibilities through practice and exploration.
