U.S. President Donald Trump recently announced the launch of a new "Immigrant Gold Card," which requires a payment of $5 million (approximately NT$163.87 million) to obtain U.S. citizenship. Trump first displayed the gold card aboard Air Force One, featuring his portrait and the Statue of Liberty, leading to it being called the "Trump Card." He claimed to be the first buyer and stated that the program will officially launch soon. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo revealed that over 1,000 gold cards have already been sold, estimating that approximately 37 million people worldwide have the means to purchase it. If 200,000 people buy the card, it could potentially generate $1 trillion in revenue for the country.

On the 3rd of this month, he showcased this gold card to the media for the first time aboard Air Force One, featuring a striking portrait and a unique design.

The government's new "Immigration Gold Card" program will completely reform the existing EB-5 investment immigration visa system. On Air Force One, he presented the physical card for the first time, which features his portrait and the Statue of Liberty; thus, this card is also referred to as the "Trump Card." While showcasing the gold card, he stated, "For just $5 million, this card can be yours. This is the first card; do you know what this card is? This is the Gold Card, the Trump Card." He claimed to be the first purchaser but did not reveal the identity of the second buyer, stating that the program would officially launch "in less than two weeks."

The Secretary of Commerce revealed last month that over 1,000 gold cards have already been sold, with approximately 37 million people worldwide capable of purchasing them. He further explained: "Currently, there are about 250,000 people waiting in line for EB-5 applications. If 200,000 people purchase these gold cards for $5 million each, it could bring in $1 trillion for the country, which would help pay off our debt." According to relevant data, a total of 135,518 EB-5 visas have been issued over the past 25 years.
