The People's Party also pointed out that the 32% tariff is based on the trade surplus figures of Taiwan with the U.S. Instead of implementing a detailed policy to address the situation, it has been reduced to rough subsidies, indicating the government's misjudgment and situational assessment. While 賴清德 was celebrating during a Taiwanese festival, netizens expressed dissatisfaction with the Vice President's questions, wondering whether he could understand the crisis faced by the people.

In light of these challenges, the People's Party emphasized that such high tariffs have an impact akin to major natural disasters or wars and must be carefully assessed by the government with concrete response plans presented. They have sent a written request to the office of the Executive Yuan head, asking for a negotiation meeting to discuss how to address the tariff issue, including strengthening negotiations with the U.S., seeking trade agreements, and supporting various measures for industries.
