A man with the surname Chen ran a red light on Minsheng Road in the Daya District of Taichung City, driving a small truck and colliding with a female rider surnamed Cai who was proceeding straight on a green light, resulting in the rider suffering severe injuries and later dying. After an investigation, Chen was sent to the district prosecutor's office for causing death by negligence and faces traffic fines as well as the suspension of his driver's license.

A twenty-five-year-old man, while driving a small van on Minsheng Road in Daya District, Taichung City on the 4th, allegedly ran a red light and collided with a sixty-six-year-old female motorcyclist who was proceeding straight. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in the accident and unfortunately succumbed after being sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. The man has currently been referred to the district prosecutor's office for charges of negligent manslaughter.

Police investigations indicate that the man was driving the small van from south to north along Section 4 of Minsheng Road, suspected of running a red light and colliding with the female motorcyclist who was moving straight through a green light. After the incident, both parties were tested and found to have no alcohol presence. The female motorcyclist was declared deceased after emergency care at Qingquan Hospital.

Police noted that the collision had significant force, leading to severe damage to both the motorcycle and the small van, with the motorcycle even lodged under the van. The specific cause of the accident will be further analyzed by professional assessment units. In addition to facing legal prosecution, the man will also face fines ranging from 1,800 to 5,400 NTD for violating the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act, as well as the suspension of his driver's license.
