A student from Fu Jen Catholic University, of Korean nationality, was randomly attacked with a knife in Ximending and suffered serious injuries to his back. The police have arrested the suspect. The student expressed that he initially thought Taiwan was a safe place, but he felt shocked and disappointed by this incident. Reflecting on the events, he emphasized that there was no conflict, which caused him to have doubts about public safety in Taiwan. Police investigations indicated that the suspect acted out of misunderstanding and drunkenness, believing he was provoked, and was captured after fleeing. The school stated that it will provide full support for the student's medical and legal needs.

A Korean student from Fu Jen Catholic University stated on social media that he was stabbed in a random attack in Ximen District, with blood gushing from his side. Although he is not seriously injured at the moment and the police have arrested the assailant, this shocking experience has made it difficult for him to calm down. He said, "I still can't believe that such a random attack could happen in Ximen, a place where almost all Koreans visiting Taiwan would go. I always thought Taiwan was a safe country, but after this incident, I have started to rethink that."

This student discussed on social media that he went to Ximen District today to attend a party for a friend's birthday. After eating beef noodle soup and preparing to take a bus back to the dormitory, he was suddenly stabbed in the back by a stranger while passing by a McDonald's in Ximen. He expressed his shock over the incident, noting that there was no prior conflict between him and the assailant, who unexpectedly attacked him from behind with a knife.

Student申 recalled that at the time he was questioning the assailant's actions, but he noticed that the assailant indifferent and fled the scene. He quickly called the police and was immediately taken to the hospital, and the police subsequently arrested the suspect. He stated that although his injuries have slightly improved, thinking back on the whole ordeal still leaves him in shock, especially in an area like Ximen that is generally considered safe.

He emphasized that he does not want this incident to affect the self-employed workers in Ximen, but he is more worried that others may face similar dangers. He admitted that he has adapted very well to life in Taiwan over the past ten months, but this incident has left him feeling disappointed about the safety.

According to the preliminary investigation by the police, the incident occurred at 6 AM when the Korean student accidentally brushed past a drunken man, leading to the attack due to a misunderstanding. The police immediately launched a pursuit and successfully arrested the suspect, who was found to be driving under the influence, confirming that the weapon used was a knife.

Fu Jen Catholic University stated that it will do its utmost to assist the injured student with medical and legal needs and encourages him to focus on recovery.
