After receiving the report, the police tracked down Mr. Jia, who eventually returned the stolen money in a state of panic. After several months of investigation, the police discovered that the complainant was actually the adopted son of a deceased mafia boss, which complicated matters significantly.

According to the police investigation, Mr. Jia was a driver responsible for picking up and dropping off this prominent figure from the north. At the time, this individual was carrying 5.7 million TWD in cash and specifically reminded Mr. Jia to be cautious about parking safety before getting out of the car. However, after finishing a hot pot meal, Mr. Jia mysteriously disappeared, leaving the cash and car keys behind.

As the case progressed, Mr. Jia attempted to evade arrest during the police investigation but was ultimately apprehended. The police explained that when Mr. Jia learned the owner was looking for him, he immediately felt terrified and returned all the stolen money and the car keys.

After hearing the case, the Tainan District Court determined that Mr. Jia, as the driver, had no responsibility for managing the cash, and since the employer's special reminder regarding money was considered a temporary business matter, he was found guilty of business embezzlement and was sentenced to six months in prison.
