According to a press conference by the Executive Yuan, the industries most affected by the new U.S. tariff policy are mainly information and communication equipment and electronic components, with a significant number of relevant manufacturers located in New Taipei City. Mayor Hou You-ih has recently begun to take an interest in these businesses and is engaging in discussions on areas where the local government can provide assistance.
