A father with the surname Zhang in Tainan requested each of his two daughters to provide him with a monthly support payment of 10,000 yuan. However, the daughters refused, pointing out that their father had abandoned the family years ago and that their mother had worked in the sex industry to support the family. After judicial proceedings, the judge determined that the father had significant faults and, therefore, waived the daughters' obligation to provide support. The court confirmed that Zhang's annual income was only 100 yuan, with no job and no savings, and thus he could not demand his daughters to bear his living expenses.
Social Center Report
Recently, a father with the surname Zhang in Tainan asked his two daughters to each provide him with 10,000 yuan monthly for his support. However, the daughters stated in court that their father had left the family since their childhood, and their mother was forced to work in difficult jobs to make ends meet, leading a very hard life. Now that they have their own families and careers, they are unwilling to support this father who "only gave birth but did not raise" them. After judicial examination, the court ruled to exempt the two daughters from their obligation to provide support.
According to the judgment, the father with the surname Zhang has no income or job, with his annual income merely 100 yuan, and therefore requested the court to order his daughters to pay monthly living expenses. One daughter stated that their father abandoned his wife and children when they were young, which forced their mother to raise the children alone, even taking on strenuous jobs. The two sisters grew up in such an environment and experienced considerable hardship.
Now, the sisters each have stable jobs, with one working as an accountant and the other as a hairdresser, and they live happily together with their mother, thus they do not wish to support their father any longer. The judge pointed out that according to relevant provisions of civil law, if the party requesting support has committed significant negligence (such as failing to fulfill their support obligations for a long time), the court may rule to exempt the children from their obligation to support. Given that Mr. Zhang's abandonment behavior was substantiated, the court ultimately agreed that the two daughters are not required to fulfill their support responsibilities.
Engaging in bad behavior is not to be imitated!
