A driver with the surname Jia stole 2.9 million yuan in cash from a gangster in Tainan and then fled. After receiving the report, the police successfully located him, only to discover that the reporter was the adopted son of a deceased gang leader. The social center reported that a driver with the surname Jia disappeared after stealing 2.9 million yuan in cash at the end of 2023. Later, when he was caught, he realized that his boss was actually a person involved in organized crime, which made him feel terrified and he returned the stolen money.

The police received a report from a middle-aged man stating that he had over 5 million yuan in cash in his car, but 2.9 million yuan was stolen by the driver with the surname Jia. After an investigation, the police located Mr. Jia, and when he realized the seriousness of the situation, he trembled and returned the stolen cash. Several months later, while the police were handling another case, they unexpectedly discovered that the person who reported the theft was the adoptive son of a deceased organized crime boss, making the original case more complicated.

Before getting out to eat, he had reminded Mr. Jia to be careful about parking, but after finishing the hot pot meal, he discovered Mr. Jia had disappeared, along with the money and car keys. The individual then reported to the police, who reviewed the surveillance footage and found that Mr. Jia had gone into hiding after committing the crime, attempting to create a break in the case to disrupt the police investigation. After the case was tried in the Tainan District Court, it was concluded that Mr. Jia, as a driver, should not have managed cash. However, due to his employer's special reminder before getting out of the car, it was determined to fall under the scope of temporary ancillary business, and he was ultimately sentenced to 6 months for business embezzlement. The court considered that Mr. Jia's past criminal patterns were different and that the embezzled funds had been returned, leading to this judgment.
