Last night (the 4th) at around 10 PM, a 41-year-old man with the surname Ma suddenly ran out onto the road from his home in Miaoli's Tongxiao Township. When his father tried to stop him, he was punched, and Ma grabbed a large stone nearby and violently struck his mother who tried to intervene. The police arrested Ma on the spot, and after questioning on the 5th, the case will be sent to the Miaoli District Prosecutor's Office for investigation.
Ma's mother's injuries are serious. It is reported that the 41-year-old man is an only child living with his parents in a multi-story house. His 66-year-old mother rushed in to mediate, but Ma picked up a large stone about 30 centimeters long from the roadside and struck his mother on the head. This caused his father to suffer bruises and abrasions to his left lower limb, and his mother's head and face were severely swollen. She was diagnosed with blunt force trauma to the head, traumatic subdural hemorrhage, closed facial bone fractures, and bruises and abrasions to her neck and abdomen after being sent to the hospital.
There are bloodstains on the ground. The injured parents told the police that their son has mental instability but has not sought medical help. After questioning on the 5th, the police will send Ma to the Miaoli District Prosecutor's Office for charges including attempted murder of direct relatives, assault, and domestic violence, and assist the family in applying for an emergency protection order.
