Taoyuan is an important flower production area in northern Taiwan, with the Dayuan River area being a major production base of the city. The Colorful Calla Lily Season has entered its 9th year, with this year's theme being "Dreamy Island of Calla Lilies." The event is held from March 29 to April 6 at the Dayuan Scenic Agricultural Park, featuring over 140,000 flower plants and 50,000 colorful calla lilies, along with the vibrant flowers cultivated by local flower growers, creating a magnificent spring floral sea landscape.
The Deputy Mayor of Taoyuan City mentioned that the delayed growth of some flowers occurred before the opening due to low temperatures, with the current bloom status at about 70%. As temperatures warm during the holiday, the number of flower viewers is expected to increase, and the bloom condition is anticipated to reach its best state. The Agricultural Bureau took into account the different flowering periods, thus changing the originally planned end date from the 6th to a "closing without closing" model from the 7th to the 13th, extending by another week. Additionally, on the 12th and 13th, the Colorful Calla Lily Season exhibition area will host a "Watermelon Planting Day," with experts teaching planting techniques and cultivation knowledge.
