The planting area for the 2025 Taoyuan Colorful Calla Lily Season reached 2.3 hectares, featuring over 140,000 flowering plants and 50,000 colorful calla lilies, attracting more than 150,000 visitors during the Qingming Festival holiday. Although it was originally scheduled to close tomorrow (the 6th), it will adopt a "closing but not closing" model and remain open until the 13th.
The Taoyuan Colorful Calla Lily Season will be extended for a week from the 7th to the 13th in a "closing but not closing" model. Taoyuan City is an important flower production area in northern Taiwan, and Dayuan River is one of the city's main production bases. This event has entered its 9th year, with this year's theme being "Dream Island of Calla Lilies," held from March 29 to April 6 at the Dayuan District's Xihai Recreational Agricultural Area. The exhibition areas feature over 140,000 flowering plants and 50,000 colorful calla lilies, complemented by the vibrant grass flowers cultivated by local florists, creating a magnificent spring floral landscape.
Due to the continuous low temperatures encountered before the launch this year, the growth speed of some flowers has been delayed, and the overall flowering condition is currently about 70% blooming. However, with the warming temperatures during the holiday period, the number of flower viewers has increased, and it is expected that the flowering condition will reach its best state. The Agricultural Bureau has considered the growth periods of different flower varieties, thus changing the original closing date from the 6th to the "closing but not closing" model from the 7th to the 13th, extending it by one week. In addition, on the 12th and 13th at the Colorful Calla Lily Season exhibition area, there will be a "Watermelon Planting Day" event, inviting watermelon experts to teach planting techniques and cultivation knowledge.
