The Kaohsiung City team performed excellently in the 2025 East Coast Alliance U18 Baseball Championship, ultimately winning the championship. They staged a comeback in the finals, defeating Gu Bao High School with a score of 2:1, thanks to the key hits from Wang Shengen and Xu Shucheng which secured the victory. Although starting pitcher Fu Zhenhong was not in good form, Chen Yuhan successfully shut down the opposing team's offense after taking over. Hong Guanyu excelled in the later stages of the game, earning the win with two scoreless innings. He is full of hopes for the future and aims to further improve his skills. The Kaohsiung City team will use this victory to motivate the players as they prepare for the upcoming Yushan Cup.

The Kaohsiung City team won the East Coast Alliance Championship. On the final day of the 2025 East Coast Alliance U18 Baseball Championship, the Kaohsiung City team overcame two strong opponents, first eliminating the New Taipei City team in the semifinals and then engaging in a fierce battle against Gu Bao Vocational High School in the championship game. Although the Kaohsiung City team initially fell behind, they tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning and subsequently took the crucial winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to a combined hit from Wang Sheng'en and Xu Shucheng, ultimately achieving a comeback victory of 2:1 and bringing home the championship trophy.

The starting pitcher for the Kaohsiung City team, Fu Zhenhong, struggled with control at the start, allowing Liu Chengyou to hit and score 1 run. In an effort to stop the bleeding immediately, left-hander Chen Yuhan took the mound in the first inning, stabilizing the situation and not allowing any more runs until the end of the fifth inning.

Kaohsiung City's head coach, Zhang Rongxun, stated that the original starter, Zheng Pinshen, was unable to play due to gastroenteritis and hoped that Fu Zhenhong could hold out for a few more innings, but it did not go as expected. Chen Yuhan then took over and performed well.

After a lengthy offensive struggle, the Kaohsiung City team finally broke through in the bottom of the fifth inning, with Hu Cheng'en's hit allowing Chen Weifan to return home, tying the game at 1:1. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Kaohsiung team launched another offensive, with Wang Sheng'en hitting a long ball, followed by Xu Shucheng's crucial hit.

After that, Chen Yuhan exited the game, and the Kaohsiung City team sent out sophomore left-hander Hong Guanyu to pitch the final two innings, performing exceptionally with three consecutive outs and achieving four strikeouts, perfectly suppressing Gu Bao Vocational High School's counterattack. Usually a starter for his home team, Sanmin High School, Hong Guanyu took the mound as a closer today and shared his feelings of nervousness before entering the game and the encouragement from his teammates.

After the game, Zhang Rongxun praised Hong Guanyu's progress, pointing out his proactive attitude and practice changes displayed in the team. Hong Guanyu is currently preparing to challenge for the main pitcher role in the wooden bat group next year and plans to participate in the Yushan Cup, hoping to make it onto the official roster of Kaohsiung City.

The Kaohsiung City team, centered around Sanmin High School and combined with Gaoyuan Commercial and Pumen High School, possesses considerable depth in both pitching and hitting. Zhang Rongxun mentioned that this perfect victory journey in the East Coast Alliance is very beneficial for morale, and after returning to their home team, the players will take the opportunity to prepare for the Wang Zhenzhu Cup and enhance team chemistry through friendly matches.
