Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che has been supporting the Democratic Progressive Party's recall activities for three consecutive days and criticized the new financial planning law as unfair, describing the people of Tainan as fourth-class citizens. He emphasized the need to hold Kuomintang legislators accountable. The DPP's city party headquarters has set up a booth in the business district, encouraging visitors from outside to sign the recall petition; however, the number of signatories has still not exceeded a thousand, and there have been some opposing voices. Although the atmosphere for the recall is high, the effectiveness of the petition is limited due to the lack of Kuomintang legislators to recall, with the deadline expected to be on the 20th. The police have also increased the deployment of undercover female officers to prevent sudden conflicts.

During the Qingming Festival holiday, the Democratic Progressive Party Tainan City branch set up booths at tourist hotspots to promote the large referendum petition, although the number of signatures collected has not yet reached a thousand.

Mayor Huang pointed out that the people of Tainan should not become fourth-class citizens, urging everyone to support the recall, holding KMT lawmakers accountable. There are no KMT representatives in Tainan that can be recalled, so the DPP city branch decided to set up booths in various shopping districts to encourage tourists from other counties and cities to sign the petition.

The booth activities were led by city branch chairman Kuo Kuo-wen, attracting many enthusiastic supporters, mostly young people. He emphasized that although there are no KMT lawmakers to be recalled in the south, many are still willing to volunteer and support this petition campaign.

The petition booth was the most popular on the 5th, but it mainly targeted tourists from central and northern Taiwan. Only a few hundred signatures were accumulated in five days, with the deadline for signing tentatively set for the 20th. The executive director mentioned that there were dissenting voices during the activity, but the police had increased plainclothes officers, and no significant conflicts occurred on site.
