Motorcycle users who frequently travel along the coastal second road stated that they often use the route for work and believe that the traffic volume is already very high, with both cars and motorcycles driving quite fast; even "riding too slow can be dangerous." Upon hearing of the death of a rider in March due to an accident on the coastal second road, everyone reminded each other to be careful while riding. However, some citizens questioned why the road was still open for traffic if the construction was not completed.

In response, the Public Works Bureau stated that the construction location was at Xiaogang Coastal Road. Due to the high traffic volume, a segmented maintenance method was adopted. At that time, they considered the smooth flow of traffic for users and hoped to reduce congestion. Therefore, after the gutter construction was completed, they decided to lay the asphalt and mark the lines to allow vehicles to pass, while the remaining friction layer would be laid after all work was completed.

After the incident, the New Works Division of the Public Works Bureau immediately went to the scene with the Xiaogang Police Station to discuss the matter, and promptly closed the motorcycle and slow vehicle lane. They also requested the contractor to review the complete closure of the road section and the improvement of traffic maintenance facilities to ensure public traffic safety. In addition, they will assist the injured parties in applying for national compensation matters. The Public Works Bureau also emphasized that if citizens discover related road issues, they can call 1999 to report them for municipal handling.
