Motorcycle riders who frequently use Coastal Road 2 for work expressed that riding has become more terrifying since the construction began. The traffic volume on that section is already high, with both cars and motorcycles moving at fast speeds, and even riding too slowly can be dangerous. Regarding the incident in March where a rider fell and died on that road, colleagues reminded each other to be cautious while riding. However, some citizens questioned why the road was still open for traffic if the construction was not finished.

The Public Works Bureau responded that the construction area is located on Xiaogang Coastal Road, where traffic is heavy, leading to a phased construction approach. After completing the drainage work, to ensure smooth traffic for road users, they decided to first lay the asphalt surface and paint the lines, with the remaining friction layer to be laid after all work is completed. After the incident, the New Works Department immediately visited the site with the Xiaogang Police Station to discuss the situation and promptly closed the motorcycle and slow lane. They also tasked the contractor with reviewing the complete closure and proper setup of traffic maintenance facilities on that section to ensure public traffic safety. The Public Works Bureau emphasized that if citizens notice any relevant road issues, they can call 1999 at any time to report to the city government for handling.
