The Kaohsiung Fire Department's Xinxing Team this morning (5) encountered an incident where an ambulance was unexpectedly driven away by a woman while performing a mission to transport a patient to the Veterans General Hospital. The woman was later apprehended by the police, and the specifics of the situation are still under further investigation.

The incident occurred at 11:28 AM when the ambulance was at the hospital's emergency room performing its duties. The engine was still running, and the firefighters briefly left, at which point the woman took the opportunity to drive away with the ambulance. After receiving a report, the police immediately dispatched personnel to handle the situation and successfully located the ambulance using a positioning system, ultimately intercepting the vehicle near the Dagang Bridge.

Upon investigation, it was found that the woman, aged 41, arrived at the hospital by taxi. After not registering for a consultation, she noticed that the rear door of the ambulance was unlocked and drove off without permission. The Zuoying Police Station indicated that the woman was arrested on the spot, and it was confirmed that no damage was caused to the ambulance. The police are conducting further clarification regarding her unstable emotional state and will process her according to the law.
