According to the Ministry of Labor regulations, illegal migrant workers will face severe penalties and deportation, and employers who hire missing migrant workers will also be punished. If the public discovers illegal hiring, they can report it and receive a reward.

On the morning of April 3, at the National Highway No. 1 Hsinchu Hukou Interchange, a car, upon seeing the police conducting high-occupancy checks ahead, had the driver and passengers immediately abandon the vehicle and flee. The car had 8 adults on board, leaving drivers behind in shock, suspected to be migrant workers escaping. The driver behind uploaded footage from their dashcam online, showing that at the National Highway No. 1 Hsinchu Hukou Interchange, police were implementing high-occupancy regulations, when a car suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, and all the passengers got out, with a total of 8 fleeing. The police in front immediately gave chase but failed to catch anyone.
A巡佐 from the Xinguang Substation in Hsinchu County stated, "The driver and passengers of the vehicle have abandoned it and ran to the road's slope, disrupting the flow of traffic and maintaining traffic safety. The vehicle has already been moved; we will contact the owner to clarify the identities of the driver and passengers."
According to official data, for migrant workers found to be illegally working after going missing, fines ranging from NT$30,000 to NT$150,000 will be imposed, and they will be deported, permanently banned from working in Taiwan in the future. Employers hiring illegal migrant workers will also face fines of NT$150,000 to NT$750,000.
To enhance the crackdown on illegal migrant workers, if the public discovers employers hiring migrant workers for illegal work without permission, or situations of illegal mediation for migrant workers, they can report them to the local labor bureau, the Ministry of the Interior's Immigration Agency, or the police. If verified, the Ministry of Labor will issue rewards ranging from NT$5,000 to NT$70,000 based on the number of individuals discovered.
