The company urges the public to value their lives and emphasizes the importance of respecting public safety, noting that similar behavior can result in fines under the Mass Rapid Transit Act.

A 23-year-old woman with the last name Lai climbed over the platform door and entered the tracks, where she was struck by a train and showed no signs of life at the scene. She was declared dead after being rushed to the hospital. The deputy general manager of the Taipei Metro stated that the woman was looking back and forth on the platform and only jumped into the tracks after the train approached. The incident occurred at 6:53 PM that evening, during which she was wandering on the platform and ultimately climbed over the platform door and entered the tracks, unfortunately being hit by an oncoming train. Taipei Metro immediately activated emergency measures, and the station manager also went onto the tracks to handle the situation, with police and firefighters proceeding with the search and rescue. When the woman with the last name Lai was rescued, she had already lost all signs of life, and resuscitation attempts in the hospital were ineffective, resulting in her death.

The Taipei Metro Company made a public announcement, stating that they had reviewed surveillance footage after the incident, confirming that the woman climbed over the platform door into the tracks, and that on-site clearance operations had been completed. Regarding her motives, further investigations will be handed over to the police for clarification. Additionally, Taipei Metro urges everyone to cherish life, respect public transportation safety, and reiterates that similar actions may result in fines of more than NT$10,000 and less than NT$1,000,000 in accordance with Article 50-1 of the Public Transportation Act.
